Aurelia Macovei, Italian adopted and born in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, began studying the violin at the age of six at the “Ciprian Porumbescu” high school in Chisinau, completing her studies at the “Gavriil Musicescu” Academy of Music, under the guidance of the masters Naum Hosch (student of Zigansky), Natalia Ciaikovsky (pupil of Michlin) and Alexander Kaushansky (student of David Oistrakh).
Holder of the first violins of the Moldovan Radiotelevision Orchestra at the age of nineteen and later of the Chisinau Philharmonic Orchestra, she performed in many European and Russian centers. With the orchestras she performed as a soloist playing concerts for violin and orchestra by Khachaturian, Paganini and Tchaikovsky. Then, arriving in Italy, she graduated at the “D.Cimarosa” conservatory, followed by a specialization course at the “W. Stauffer” with Maestro Salvatore Accardo and the specialization course at La Scala with exceptional masters. She performed concerts playing as first violin with the Campania Regional Orchestra, the “Cantelli” orchestra of Milan and the Italian Chamber Orchestra, performing numerous concerts in Italy, Spain, France, England, Scotland, Wales, China, Japan, Russia and Florida.
She also performed as a soloist in numerous concerts accompanied by the orchestras of Bacau (Romania), Yjevsk (Russia), Bourgas (Bulgaria), Minsk (Belarus), Carish of Milan, Symphony of Salerno, Regional Orchestra of Campania and also in various chamber ensembles . In 2016 she toured in China as a soloist in the most prestigious venues.
Currently she works on a permanent basis with the Italian Chamber Orchestra.
She is a violin teacher at the Academy of Music in Lodi.
