Sofia Manvati

Sofia Manvati was born on the 4th of October 2000 in Erba, Italy and began studying the violin at the age of seven. She graduated with honor and she is currently in the first year of the master degree at Monteverdi Conservatory in Cremona, under the tuition of Maestro Laura Gorna, and at the prestigious Walter Stauffer Academy training course with Maestro Salvatore Accardo. She has also studied on the high-level training courses at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, again under Maestro Salvatore Accardo.She has taken violin lessons with esteemed violinists including Mariana Sirbu; Anton Sorokow, Pavel Vernikov and with Maestro Zakhar Bron in Berlin.
She has won national and international competitions: the Concorso Nazionale Città di Giussano first prize; the Valsesia Musica International Competition Juniores in both the Soloists and Chamber Music categories; the first prize at the “IV London International Music Competition”; first prize at the “Grand Prize Virtuoso” in Vienna for
which she performed at the Glaserner Saal Musikverein; the first prize at the International “Melos” Competition at the Istituto Pontificio di Musica Sacra in Rome and the “Special Prize as best performer of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons” at the “Tibor Varga Junior Violin Competition” in Sion; first prize at the European Music Competition in Moncalieri; first prize at the 4th International Music Competition “Classic Artists on line” in Cremona and the First prize at the “Lombardia è Musica” competition.
She has given numerous solo and chamber music recitals including the pianist Maria Grazia Bellocchio. She performs regularly with the pianist Giorgio Lazzari.
As soloist with the Eurasia Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maestro David Geringas in Berlin, with the Orchestra dell’Hemu di Losanna and with the New Chamber Orchestra “Ferruccio Busoni” di Trieste. As part of her chamber music training she has performed in concert at the Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona with the Walter Stauffer Academy. She
plays in the OCI (Italian Chamber Orchestra) conducted by Maestro Salvatore Accardo.
In training with the “Eurythmia Quartet” she has recorded for “Da Vinci Publishing” the “Quartet for the End of Time” by Olivier Messaien. For the “Suonare News” label, in collaboration with the Walter Stauffer Academy and the Orchestra Ferruccio Busoni di Trieste, she took part in the production of the complete works for violin and orchestra of W.A. Mozart with the performance of his concerto no. 5 K 219.
